Digitec joins the GMM Group: a European hub for radiology and biomedical imaging takes shape

Same brand, same team, same OEM business model. For Digitec customers, the point of contact remains unchanged: what changes is the scale of the industrial project supporting them.
Forty years of software for diagnostic radiology. Now, a step up in scale: Digitec joins the GMM Group and contributes to building one of the most solid hubs for radiology and biomedical imaging in Europe. Two Italian industrial companies with complementary histories: Digitec software for the acquisition, processing and management of radiological images, and GMM’s experience as an international group active across the entire diagnostic imaging value chain.
For those who work with Digitec, the first message is simple: the point of contact does not change. The company continues with its own brand, the same team and business model. Digitec remains an OEM supplier, dedicated to integrating its software into the systems of radiological equipment manufacturers. Support continues without interruption — for existing products as well as for ongoing projects. What changes is not the relationship, but the scale: behind Digitec there is now an international industrial group.
The GMM Group brings together expertise ranging from radiographic and fluoroscopy systems to mammography, from power components to artificial intelligence for diagnostics. And Imaging is where Digitec's contribution matters most.
Monica Sordi, CEO of the GMM Group, said: “Together with the Group's established expertise in artificial intelligence, built through the Galileo and Tiziano solutions, and by the addition of D/Vision Lab and Milvue, Digitec’s software completes a platform that marks a clear transition: from manufacturer of radiology systems to international player in integrated imaging systems. No longer only equipment, but solutions that bring together hardware, acquisition and processing software, and clinical artificial intelligence.”
For Digitec customers, the advantage is concrete: broader access to technologies, expertise and markets, with a direct benefit for the quality and evolution of the solutions offered. Becoming part of this ecosystem means having more resources behind the company to do what Digitec has always done: integrate excellent software into its partners’ systems.
Simone Re, Managing Director of Digitec, is straightforward: “On our own, we would have grown more slowly. Together, we are competing on a different scale. This step marks our participation into a broader, long-term industrial and strategic project. Our identity, our people and our commitment to customers remain the constant from which we move forward.”
The integration does not start from scratch. Digitec software has long been present in the group’s systems: this consolidated collaboration, built over the years, is the starting point for the shared path ahead. The governance confirms this too — Digitec maintains its own operating structure, supported by the group’s strategic vision, with a multi-year leadership mandate and the ongoing presence of the company’s historical leaders.
This transaction marks the beginning of a new phase in an increasingly mature and global market: building a European hub for radiology and biomedical imaging with a clear ambition, namely achieving the scale required to compete internationally by bringing together hardware, software, and artificial intelligence within a single industrial vision. Digitec approaches this chapter with the same focus on quality and relationships that has defined the company for forty years — backed by a stronger platform to support customers and partners to address the future challenges of diagnostic imaging.
